Temperature Monitors Report Widescale Global Cooling

Looking at the graph on the right, we are obviously at the high point of the temperature range for the planet, during this current ‘interglacial’ period, and temperatures this warm have always been followed by an ice age. The past twelve-month long drop in world temperatures has wiped out a century of warming.
Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile — the list goes on and on.

It’s been out for a while now, but just in case you didnt see it, go see it. I still can’t believe Bill Murray doesn’t get on the train, but it really couldn’t have been any better. What can I say, it’s moving, profound, philosophical, beautiful, interesting, funny, touching and many other feelings you can, as well as can’t explain with simple words.
Westbeach

I’ve been wearing Westbeach gear whilst snowboarding/skiing for over 12 years now, when they used to have the canadian flag as part of their logo and my friends who were sponsored by them would flow me the occasional stuff on the cheap. Actually I am not sure why they got rid of the flag, it was pretty cool and made me think of mountains and deep snow when I was stuck in the rain in North of England as a student. They have always made top quality gear and have helped the sport grow over the years through supporting some key riders. Anyway, much to my delight, I got a goody bag from them through the post today with some new gear. Stoked! Thank you Westbeach!!!!
The epic of Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh was an ancient King from the oldest civilisation known to man, the Sumerians. He reigned sometime between 3000 and 2500 BC in the city-state of Uruk near the Euphrates in what is now southern Iraq. According to the Babylonian epic, Gilgamesh himself inscribed his tale of the time before the Flood on a stone tablet, making it is one of the earliest works of literature known to man.
Like all epics, Gilgamesh contains both historical and mythic elements in all its versions, and thus is meant to be interpreted on several levels. In addition to its very human themes of friendship, courage, the problem of death, and the meaning of life, it is also an initiatory tale about the quest for enlightenment, the revelation of divine mysteries, the duality of man, and the evolutionary unfoldment of our spiritual nature. Implicit in the narrative are the cosmology and other metaphysical doctrines of the ancient sanctuaries.
You can read a translation of the 11 tablets of the epic of Gilgamesh here, which Scholars around the world have acknowledged contains striking similarities to the old testament, although it preceeds it by many, many years.
There is also a good synopsis here which makes for easier reading with additional explanation.
Dollar Koi

With the dollar at a new all time low against the Euro, you could add more value into it by making some intricate origami. Good way to save it too. A tshirt for 30 origami koi fish? No way, Im keeping the fish.

Oil prices hit record in New York
Oil prices have surged to record levels after traders bet that the Opec oil producing nations will reduce output.
In New York, the main contract for light sweet crude oil hit a record high of $100.10 a barrel before closing at $100.01, up $4.51.
“Production is not going to increase. It will either decrease or be stable,” Opec President Chakib Khelil said on Monday.
Opec is showing every sign that it will move to cut production at it’s March meeting,” said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Alaron Trading.
“It seems that Opec is only focused on price and the economy be dammed.”
