Soo, first article I read this morning was saying, recessions over! I read the mainstream (corporate owned) media more for a laugh and to see what info we are being fed than for any unbiased reporting. Amongst many other reasons, how can a recession be over with unemployment at such a high level and still rising? U6 unemployment for America is at 17.0%!! Have a look for yourself..
Spain’s ‘Official’ unemployment is at 17.9% too and forecast to hit 20% soon.

One of the guys who I do trust and who got this mess spot on is Gerald Celente of TrendsResearch.com.
This is what he had to say on the same topic:

“There’s no recovery. This is merely a cover-up,” he said. “Never before has so much phantom money been printed out of thin air, backed by nothing, producing practically nothing,” Celente continued. “You don’t even have to be a student of history to know the outcome of this. All you have to do is have your eyes open, and start thinking for yourself.”

He forecasts the possibility of a civil war, and says if people want to see what Main Street America will look like, they should “drive around Detroit. Look at all the blown out houses and empty neighborhoods. Look at the violence that’s increasing..” Continued

Of course you cant know the future, but Celente has a solid track record of nailing predictions and was one of the people who woke me up to what was happening years ago. Could he be wrong this time? Maybe, let’s hope so, but I suspect not.
Time will tell..

Took this photo out of the window today. It’s gone from 26 degrees sunny tshirt weather to snowing, in less than a week.

There are not many things in life as fun as tearing it around on a dirt bike. Despite having been riding/racing since I was 4 years old, I haven’t really ridden at all recently for one reason or another, I think no more than twice in the last 5 years and after being a spectator so often recently, on that bike, on that surface, man was it good to be back!

ahhhhhh yeeeaaaaaa. Saw snow on the peaks as I came over the Brenner pass from Italy towards Innsbruck on Sunday. Not long now….
Picked up a new Lib Tech Travis Rice C2 banana Magnatraction board when I was out in LA as it was (is) not out here yet and the dollar is so weak that it was mega cheap. Pretty excited to try it. Weird wavy edge and tapers either side of the banana bend.  Might take a bit of getting used to. Will write a mini review after I test it. Didn’t have a day off for 4 weeks so might go up to the glacier on Friday. Maybe, maybe.

Just got back from the Motocross of Nations in Italy. There was some brilliant racing between Reed and Cairoli and there were some massive crashes in the final. Knackered right now after the weekend and a 5 hour drive, but here are a few photos I shot with my little Panasonic DMC-T27 point and shoot. More later.

Musquin owned all on the first day on his KTM and took the MX2 overall for the weekend.

Reed and Cairoli were swapping the lead back and forth but the Italian Cairoli came out on top at his home race to the cheers of the Italian crowd

There was a massive double step-up on the track. Not many people were doing the double to start with.

Cairoli was. Laying it flat.

Spot the rider. That’s a seriously big jump!

Tommy Searle above the crowds. There were 70 000 people there apparently on the Sunday.

Stopped by recently for a walk around the British museum and although there is some really great stuff there the section I went specifically to see containing the ancient Sumerian relics was closed for renovation. Boo!
