He mentions somewhere that all his favorite bikes at the moment have a very low profile seat with no hump at the back. It seems like a lot of work to get bikes so minimal but I reckon they look better like that too.

Kitzsteinhorn good start
National holiday in Austria today, and since it snowed all week the choice of activity for today didn’t take much thinking about.

Did a pretty sketchy climb to get over the back. Down to the left is a drop to rocks.

Brought you out at the top of this run which had a closed lift. The climb was definitely worth it.

Winter light

Snow all the way down to the valley bottom already, although I guess it wont stay for long.

Snowing today.

Grey outside today, so thought I’d share a bit of color from a couple weeks ago.

Red bull rampage 2010

Twenty-one of mountain biking’s best riders threw down all they had while battling wild weather, but when the skies cleared it was Zink who took home the trifecta – the contest win, Utah Sports Commission Best Trick Award and the Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour season overall title.
Video of the finals here. Intense! Highspeed, massive airs and huge crashes. Cam Zink won by throwing a 360 rotation 30 feet out and 40 feet down!

Low snowline
It snowed almost down to Salzburg last night so I went for a little cruise at lunch to check it out.

DH VS Moto
It’s an interesting concept, to pitch Gee Atherton, the worlds fastest Downhill mountain biker against David Knight, the world’s best enduro rider on a Downhill mountain bike track and it seems that this is shaping up to happen at some point in the future. Who wins, in my opinion will mainly depend on the track. All the tracks in Austria, whilst you ride them fast on DH bikes, would for most of the run be way faster on an Enduro bike. You just have more stability, suspension, bigger tires and about 50 HP. That being said, there are the odd trails which are really tight and an MTB would be faster. Will be cool to watch the race but my money would be firmly on the KTM and David Knight to win. Lot of opinions on who will win here!
