KTM at Oakland Supercross 2011
If you didn’t see the 4th round of the AMA supercross you can download the races here (as well as earlier races). Young Roczen is definitely carrying the flag for KTM in Supercross right now, leading the lites class for a bit before dropping back to 4th, his best finish so far.

Benny stack sequence
Was on babysitting duty so we went and built a kicker up near Gaissau. Little H was just hanging out.

Benny stalefish

Benny and my bro jumped while I took photos using Luke’s 7D and watched the wee man.

After the first few jumps I turned him around and put him behind me so he could watch the jumping. He looked so stoked.

Sportgastein, shifting conditions
My bro Luke is in town so we hit up Sportgastein, one of the more epic spots around here. Was using my little S95 Canon camera on full manual mode and it’s pretty wicked.

Luke not missing the Sydney beach life for a minute.

Burnt out car, Salzburg
This burnt out car has been by the river for about 3 weeks now, in front of the monastery, next to our flat. Seems so out of place here in this fairytale town that Jule suggested maybe it was an art installation. Haha. How shit are the cops here though that they don’t even remove a burnt out car after 3 weeks??? Mind you, I took this photo before it started snowing last week so maybe now you cant even see it anymore.
Sick mixes
With an average of 1,536 visits and 31,244 hits per day to this site there must be a lot of different music tastes out there but if you are into the more electronic end of the spectrum then this dude offers a huge selection of new mixes for you to download. Covering a lot of my longtime favorite radio shows, Benji B, Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova etc. as well as new ones like Scream and Benga, he is really on top of it in terms of uploads, posting the shows straight after they are out. Mainly UK fresh. Dig in:

Changing astronomy
Lengthening day: If it seems as if each day is longer than the last, you’re right. But that’s just because Earth is slowing down ever so slightly every day. Gravitational tugs from other celestial bodies (principally the moon and the sun) are causing the “great slowdown,” as my colleague David Ropeik explained back in 2001. It’s thought that when the moon formed, billions of years ago, a full day was six hours long, and that the day lasted less than 23 hours when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Nowadays, leap seconds are periodically added to keep atomic clocks in sync — most recently at the end of 2008.
Loads of other info in this Fascinating article…
Based on old astrology I am a Gemini, but I just saw today that as a result of the precession of the equinoxes I am really a Taurus according to modern astronomy. They show the updated Zodiac chart in the video at the link below.
“Back in the days of Babylonian soothsayers, the sun might have been in the constellation Capricorn at this time of year. But due to the changing tilt of Earth’s axis, it’s actually in Sagittarius right now.
Over the course of thousands of years, Earth’s axis wobbles like a top, and as a result the apparent position of the sun against the constellations varies. The boundaries of the constellations have become more sharply defined as well, which means the sun doesn’t spend equal amounts of time in each of the zodiacal “signs.” In fact, the sun passes through a 13th constellation — Ophiuchus the serpent bearer — which throws off the whole traditional 12-house system that astrologers swear by.

A fella at work told me there was 4m of snow in the hills already near Salzburg at his parents house and the snow forecast is for 8 days more of snow. Can hardly sit still today!

KTM at 3rd round AMA SUpercross Los Angeles, CA
Didn’t see the race yet, but it is quite clear already that Villopoto is wickedly fast this year. Stewart was always a league above everyone else in my opinion, but it seems that may be the case no more. For KTM, Roczen is getting better every race and Short, well, he has a hell of a lot of competition!
