Some trick powerparts on this one. The yellow number plates are killing me though.

When playboys ruled the world
Excellent documentary. Certainly not many characters around anymore like these guys. Roczen possibly being the exception. Actually having said that, I know stories of quite a few racers living it up once the racing is done, it’s just always quite well hidden nowadays.

Autumn ride X-Bowl arena stegenwald – 2012 KTM 150 SX

After reading this review of the 2012 ktm 250 SX on the motocross action website, I changed the compression damping on my 150′s forks to 9 clicks out (stock is 12) and on the shock to 12 clicks out (stock is 15) and it was a huge improvement, didn’t bottom out once and still soaked up all the small bumps and gave much better traction. Also gave me a better boost when I hit the jumps.

Feeling more and more comfortable on the bike but my fitness still sucks.

Simon taking the leap of faith on his old Husqvarna. Needs the back brake round about this time, but after swapping bikes for one lap and almost binning it on the first corner, I can tell you his bike pretty much doesn’t have one. Or a front brake either! He landed ok anyway.

this kids KX was ridiculously nice, I think the only part he left stock was the frame. Rode pretty good too.

Tromsø auroras

The sun is waking up from one of the deepest solar minima in a century, and the solar cycle seems to be rapidly gaining strength. Forecasters expect a new “Solar Max” in 2012-2013 with plenty of aurora storms between now and then.

This thing is sitting gleaming in the Kiska studio today so I thought I would take a couple photos for you.

KTM 150 SX 2012 walkaround
Well, the plan was to make a riding video but since I got a puncture it didn’t happen this time. Put together a little walkaround of the bike instead, but I was in a hurry because I wanted to ride and messed up the shutter speed so it’s a tad jumpy.

RSD Desmo Tracker
Loved the concept behind this bike when I first heard about it, (turn a Ducati Demosedici into a tracker) but the work in progress shots left me far from convinced that they were on the right path with it. I still prefer the original swingarm too, but as usual with Roland Sands, the craftmanship on this bike is superb and the bike turned out really well. Must be an absolute blast to ride. Video and more pictures here.
