Had the most epic ride back of my life. An hour and a half of non stop winding, fast mountain and valley roads, 34 degrees, with Zero traffic, and the sun going down. Sublime. The KTM smr 990 is a hell of a bike! SO stable, so predictable, so maneuverable and sooo fast. Love it.

Wallrides the other way feel easier for some reason. Might explain why I ended up driving through a nettle bush after landing. It was really dark when we shot this, and in order to get a fast enough shutter I boosted the ISO to 3500 on the 550d, which made it a little grainy but I quite like the result.

Christian rode up to the top on his old bike which was really old but also really light. Not the ideal bike for driving down after but he did pretty good.

Benny’s retiring from DH shortly to start riding fixed gear. (Possibly)

This is the only section of the trail I really dont like. Ridiculously steep and slippery. Craig made it look too easy.

Sara was fast too.

Was a little wall to play around on while waiting for the others to show up.

Kiska Enduro day 2010

A big group of us from work went riding for the day since KTM is one of our main clients. Lot of people were trying it out for the first time so we didn’t go to a particularly good track.

Not much to jump off really but it was fun anyway.

This was a pretty high quarry wall, and you had to hit it fast to air over one section to the top. First hit was a little sketchy but I was feeling well good after that.

We found a nice step up though where I was trying to nail scrubs. Didn’t totally get it, but I was getting better.

I never really did play riding like this before but it was good for the bike skills.

Sven used to work with us and came back for the day to ride.

Ok, here are some other people now. No wait, that’s Sven too.

We got a huge choice of bikes to ride. The new 4stroke EXC’s were brilliant. First time ever that I preferred riding 4 strokes, although saying that maybe the most fun I had all day was ragging it around on an 85cc 2stroke for about 5 hot laps!

Craig had his first ride ever on an MX bike and since he is somewhat of a meister MTB rider was pretty fast.

Man I’m knackered right now too. Getting kind of old!

UCI World Cup downhill at Leogang

All photos shot with Canon 550D with a 35mm fixed prime lens. It didnt really stop raining all day and the light was terrible in the woods so it was tricky to get the camera settings right, but I was pretty happy with some of the shots.

The whole side of the mountain was a mudbath.

Rachel Atherton was favorite to win but crashed out.

Greg Minnaar Wins World Cup downhill at Leogang

We went and checked out the UCI worldcup downhill in Leogang today. Was pretty epic. Finally starting to get to grips with the 550D on full Manual mode. Got quite a lot of photos which I will try to get up soon. Here are some of Santa Cruz Alps rider Greg Minaar who won in a pretty exciting race.

We walked all the way up to the start of the track and then pretty much ran all the way back down as the riders came down one by one. Craig was missing his bike but did a pretty decent wallride anyway.

First time out on the Meta 6 at a proper bike park.

Both my friend Benny and I picked up last years Commencal Meta 6 frame after finding a deal with 60% off and after having spent the last year listening to our friend Craig raving about it. Both bikes were built totally differently, and whilst i cant speak for his, man am I impressed with mine!

Gaisberg classic car rally weekend

Got dropped at the top of the mountain next to Salzburg with my bike and there was a car rally going on so I snapped some photos before heading down. When it’s warm and the sun shines in Salzburg it’s a place that is hard to beat.
