Ride snowboards consistently have the coolest GFX each year

I had a good chat about the Burton Nug with one of the Burton guys and we both agreed it was the sickest board ever made, with possibly the worst  topsheet graphics ever made. Next years board was ‘restricted’ and only available to main accounts or something like that. He said it looked better was was still pretty ugly.

Had a nice chat with the Master of the Thunderdome at Armada who has done some wicked Graphics for the new Armada skis.

Got loads of photos from Munich ISPO. Will take me a few days to go through em but there was some nice design on display.

this is what winter sports is all about (at least for me anyway) although in the maze/haze of ISPO it’s easy to overlook…

Seeing and using nicely designed products is no doubt one of life’s pleasures too though.

Sun came out finally after weeks of snow

Firstly, apologies if you are into snowboarding or skiing and you are stuck in a city or somewhere flat reading this. I was for many years and I know how much it sucks to see people charging down amazing lines through waist deep powder. I hated looking at photos of people grabbing first lines after week(S) long heavy snowfall. I hated those people. But I wanted to be one of those people again, as I had tasted it when I was a teenager. I even tattooed the mountains on my arm to remind myself that life could one day be that sweet again, that there was a better place to live as life at that time stuck in a grey city sucked. Yes, life sucked then. Life is always up and down. Kind of like the act of snowboarding itself.

You can click the image to make it a bit bigger, but the 640px wide photos are courtesy of my 19 month old experimenting with my camera before we went out. Shame as some of the pictures would have come out pretty good. Maybe next weekend..

Got by far the best snow today I have ridden for years. Over waist deep in many places and so light. So many lines to claim too and so little time! Was firing on all cylinders. Mad adrenaline.

I like that the nug has a bright base.

2 weeks exactly now since I quit roll-ups. Again. For about the 5th time. Still feeling well aggro. Grrraaaa! Exercise is good. Speed is good.

A group of friends mountain biking, dirt jumping, surfing, skating, skiing and snowboarding whilst on a trip to chile, all superbly shot with an amazing Red Camera, some other high end film equipment and nicely edited together and published by guilhemmachenaud.com.

I like the way Travis thinks. I hate the red bull media player. Auto start?? FFS. I dont want to have to edit the code when I post (although I had to for this). Flash? Still? Apple killed flash. Get with it. Embed code which doesn’t allow wordpress rescaling?? Come on now, I dont want to have to do a maths equation to work out the correct size ratio via the code. Sort it out red bull, your videos are amazing, just upload on youtube or vimeo or make a decent media player which doesn’t take people 30 minutes to post.

Leave at 12pm, 8 minutes to the bottom of the lift from Kiska, which was slower than the 6 minutes it takes without traffic. 4 runs, a few fairly rubbish bad light photos with Zacher who was riding my old board and then back to work.

Siiiiiick. The video thumbnail doesn’t really do it justice. Watched it 3 times. YES. Snowboard.

No chance of any biking here at the moment, but the snow is starting to get pretty good.

Had a pretty good ride yesterday up in Zauchensee. Was only jibbing around the mountain rather than in a park, but I landed a load of tricks for the first time this season which felt great. Backside Indy 180′s off lips just never get old, no matter how old I get. Even nailed a clean switch 540 stalefish, albeit not exactly massive. Stoked anyway. Claim it!
